BioWare lead gameplay designer Christina Norman, who announced she was leaving the company at the end of June, has joined League of Legends developer Riot Games as a lead designer.

“I am thankful for my experience working on the Mass Effect series at BioWare,” Norman told Gamasutra.

“Mass Effect 3 is going to be the best game in the series,” she added. Coincidentally, VideoGamer.com crowned Mass Effect 3 the Best of E3 2011.

“I’m looking forward to working with Riot on innovative new approaches to game design and game development in the rapidly-changing video game market,” she adds.

“War of the Worlds? Think War of the Galaxy,” said VideoGamer.com in its latest Mass Effect 3 preview.

Norman recently discussed Mass Effect 3’s improved AI in an interview conducted before she left BioWare.

Preston Watamaniuk, lead designer for Mass Effect 1 and 2, has taken over Norman’s role.

Mass Effect 3 will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on March 9 2012.
