Marvel Rivals released their much-anticipated Pick-Up Bundle on March 27, 2025, generating enthusiasm among its thriving player base. This mini-battle pass includes the eye-catching Hyper Orange Venom skin, Chrono Tokens, and the coveted Costume Coin—a new currency that allows players to select an Epic-tier skin from a pool of 32 Season 0 cosmetics.

Fans filled social media with excitement, praising NetEase Games for providing such value in a free-to-play title, with many anxious to plunge into battles to gain extra delights like the hilarious Symbiote Boogie emote revealed for April Fool’s Day. The bundle’s accessibility and the promise of more personalization choices have kept the community excited, especially as Season 2 approaches, due to premiere on April 11.

Players have praised the game’s constant upgrades and exciting events, with the Pick-Up Bundle regarded as a clever approach to keep superhero battles dynamic and rewarding. However, some players realized that they could claim the bundle for free, skipping the little charge altogether. This unanticipated bug caused ripples throughout the community, with lucky winners flaunting their loot—until NetEase intervened.

Marvel Rivals reverses Pick Up bundle purchase for players claiming it using free bug

Marvel Rivals players were able to get the Pick Up bundle for free using a bug on platforms such as PlayStation and Xbox. The bug did not charge users when they claimed the bundle from their platform store, thus granting them all items for free.

However, soon enough, those players received an in-game mail from NetEase, who had removed the bundle and its contents from their accounts. The message read, “We regret to inform you that due to a system error, your recent purchase of the Pick-Up Bundle was not charged correctly. Consequently, we will need to remove the Bundle and any associated items from your account. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.”

Players reported that they saw a “freebie” tag on the bundle, implying that they could claim it at no cost in the game. After this incident, several also raised a question whether NetEase could reverse accidental purchases for players as one user said, “So they can remove “purchases”. Someone posted yesterday that he didn’t mean to purchase a bundle and they said they had no way of being able to remove or refund the bundle.”

While NetEase addresses these bugs as player frustration grows among those who have been grinding away to unlock items, the Pick Up Bundle is now available in the store for $2.99, and you can also purchase the Hyper Orange Venom skin separately for 800 Units if you’d like to skip the other cosmetics included.
