Marvel Rivals features a vast gallery of costumes for every hero, and as of Season 2, over 160+ costumes have been released in the game. NetEase provides some of these skins for free to players via in-game events like Galacta’s Gift or Hellfire Gala: Moments, or even Twitch Drops that they can claim.
However, there are still some skins that are exclusive to certain platforms or seasons that are quite hard to purchase even in the in-game store for Units. These ultra-rare cosmetics, which frequently feature unique model alterations or tributes to legendary Marvel moments, are prized trophies among die-hard fans, with many being unavailable since the game’s alpha and beta phases.
But surprisingly, NetEase is now bringing two ultra-rare skins from the game’s first season that players had been waiting for, since those who own them carry the “OG” status with them.
New Marvel Rivals update brings back two Galactic skins to the shop
According to X0X_Leak on X, NetEase will bring back Captain America’s Galactic Talon and Hawkeye’s Galactic Fangs skins with the May 23 update, which will be available until June 5, 2025 for a limited time to purchase. While some players advocate for constant availability to decrease the fear of missing out on them, others want exclusivity. The reappearance of these skins is expected to spark interest, providing players another opportunity to dress their heroes in these classic appearances.
The two skins initially released as limited-time bundles on December 6, 2024, became instant hits for their cosmic, Vibranium-forged designs. These iconic skins were removed from the shop on December 27, causing player discontent, with Captain America and Hawkeye fans lamenting their exclusivity on venues like as Reddit and Steam. The FOMO-driven strategy garnered criticism, as some players overlooked the timer in the in-game patch notes, leaving them without the coveted cosmetics.
Both Captain America and Hawkeye skins will be priced for 1,600 Units, without the MVP animation, Nameplate, or Emote tied around in a bundle. This has further upset players since they prefer spending their hard-earned Units or Lattice on bundles that give them the most value. However, some are even wondering whether they’ll be able to use a Costume Coin to make this purchase, but given these are limited items, it’s highly likely they won’t be able to make such a transaction.
