Following the announcement that FIFA 16 will introduce female football teams for the first time in the series, EA has followed up with a first for women in Madden, too, with them appearing in the crowd for the first time in Madden 16.
We’re excited about FIFA adding women players, but we wouldn’t let them steal all the thunder,” a developer of the game said in an interview with GameSpot. “So we’ve added women to our crowds.”
The fact that women have never been in the crowds of a Madden game isn’t something that EA should be shouting about, and certainly not boasting that, in 2015, they’re being added into the game for the very first time. But at least the addition has finally been made.
