The official Star Wars website has announced a formal refresh of the Lucasfilm gaming division, calling itself Lucasfilm Games with a whole new logo and branding that will be on all Star Wars titles going forward.

As per the official announcement on StarWars.com, the new name and logo was chosen as "a name that encompasses the company’s rich catalog of video games and its eye toward the future." Though it's not directly responsible for creating the games, the department works closely with developers and publishers such as EA and their Star Wars label and Traveller's Tales on the Lego Star Wars series, and even Mojang on Minecraft's recent Star Wars pack.

Interestingly enough, the announcement specifically says the new name is "now the official identity for all gaming titles from Lucasfilm" which would presumably include any future Indiana Jones titles too (a new movie is indeed in the works, just saying). Of course, we do slightly wonder why they went with that name when the classic LucasArts name was presumably on the table, but hey.

Either way, there's a sizzle reel to celebrate the rebranding that features plenty of Star Wars games currently available, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Squadrons and the upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. You can see that down below.
