Sci-fi exploration game Lifeless Planet is touching down on PS4 later this month, developer Stage 2 Studios has announced.

Available from July 19, the PS4 version is described as a “remastered version” that “harnesses the awesome power of the PS4 to tell a truly intriguing and thought-provoking story”.

“Dramatically improved” lighting is promised over the earlier PC and Xbox One release, along with advanced physically based shaders and improvements to the game’s main character model.

Whether the game has been improved beyond that, however… Well, only time will tell. Tom scored the Xbox One version 5/10 when he reviewed it last year, praising it for its “intriguing” premise and “nice landscapes”, but criticising it for being a “plodding”, “short-lived adventure”.

A price for the PS4 version has yet to be announced.
