UPDATE 14:05 GMT – TT Games and Warner Bros have now confirmed the April 5 release date for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. There’s also a new trailer, which you can find at the end of this story.
ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS; It appears as though the much-delayed Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may be about to get a release date.
The latest entry in the Lego Star Wars series has been delayed several times over the past couple of years. Back in April last year, it was delayed out of Spring 2021 to an unknown point in the future. That was then narrowed down a little by the time of Gamescom 2021, giving it a window of Spring 2022.
Now though, Comicbook.com reports that the Microsoft Store briefly listed the release date of the game as April 5, 2022. While this date has now seemingly been scrubbed from the listing at the time of writing, the same date has since also been tweeted by retailer Game in the UK. Said tweet has since also disappeared, perhaps indicating an announcement is imminent, but not before we managed to nab a screenshot. You can see that below.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will encompass all nine movies in the Star Wars saga. It’ll also include nods to TV series The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch too. It’s important to note this will be a brand new game, and not just a collection of the former Lego Star Wars outings.
We’ll update this story if an official confirmation of that April 5 date turns up. (EDIT: It did, see above.) Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga officially lands on April 5, 2022. It’ll be on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
