The Well is the next game from Left 4 Dead and Evolve developer Turtle Rock Studios, and it’s exclusive to Samsung Gear VR.
The Well is a fantasy RPG where you have been tasked with saving the world after ‘something alien’ begins to attack the villagers of Tholl. As one of four classes (Mage, Rogue, Warrior, or Druid) you recruit companions, unearth secrets, and battle a number of different enemies along the way.
While the studio is most definitely best-known for Left 4 Dead, and Evolve to a lesser extent, Turtle Rock has dabbled in VR before with other Gear VR titles Otherworlds and Blade Runner 2049: Replicant Pursuit, as well as multi platform VR game Face Your Fears.
‘We’re excited to create a new, original fantasy world unlike anything we’ve seen before, and it’s specifically crafted for the Gear VR platform,’ Turtle Rock’s general manager Steve Goldstein said on The Well. ‘It’s not just a fun game, it’s beautiful. Gear VR is a medium that allows us to push the creative envelope and bring to life games we never thought possible.’
The Well will be available on Samsung Gear VR on October 11, but in the meantime you can have a gander at the announcement trailer below.
