Namco Bandai has announced Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, a remastered collection of the first two Klonoa platforming games.

The pack will contain both 1998 original PlayStation title Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and follow-up Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. They see the titular hero in a side-scrolling adventure set in a land fuelled by dreams. After an airship crashes into the local mountain, Klonoa sets out accompanied by a ring spirit named Huepow to investigate, and so begins their journey.

There’s a couple of new features in the collection, aside from a glow-up graphically of course. These will include a new adjustable difficulty option, and the addition of 2 player co-op to help newcomers. You can check out the game’s vibrant art style in the trailer, which we’ve popped down below.

Funnily enough, it’s not actually the first time the series has gotten a remake. That came back in 2009, when Klonoa: Door to Phantomile launched for the Nintendo Wii.

At the time of writing, only the Nintendo Switch version of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series has a release date, set for July 8. However, the collection will also be heading to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC soon. Presumably, we’ll get a release date for those versions in due course.
