Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning boasts a map as big as that seen in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, according to developer Big Huge Games.
In an interview with GamesRadar, associate producer Craig Krstolic explained:
“I’ve looked at this, and if I look at something like Oblivion, it’s very comparable in size.
“They’re slightly different scales, though. In Oblivion you have the central city and the area around that. We have a fairly vast area that’s spread out a little bit more with a lot smaller cities and towns within it.”
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is set to release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in February of next year.
It’s not surprising considering those who are working on the development team. With a man like Ken Rolston at the helm, a man who worked as lead designer on everything from Morrowind to Oblivion, I’d bloody expect a big map.
