Kane & Lynch from Hitman developer IO Interactive, along with Pivotal Games’ Crossfire will now be released simultaneously for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Both titles had been lined-up for release only on PC and Xbox 360 during the company’s 2007 financial year, but will now arrive in the 2008 financial year simultaneously with the PlayStation 3 versions.
“The Board believes that a release of these products simultaneously on all three
platforms (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC) including the two next generation platforms
will benefit the long term revenue potential for these two strong franchises
rather than releasing different versions at different times,” the company said in a statement released today.
Kane & Lynch will be released in time for Christmas, while Crossfire will be released early in 2008. Both PlayStation 3 versions are said to be in “advanced stages of development“.
