‘John Wick’ Spinoff ‘Ballerina’ Cast News

‘Ballerina’ marks the first non John Wick led feature film in Lionsgate’s ever expanding ‘John Wick’ cinematic universe.

Set to tell the story of a young female assassin as she sets out to seek revenge against those who murdered her family.

The movie is believed to (though not officially confirmed yet) involve the Ruska Roma criminal organisation first shown in ‘John Wick: Chapter III – Parabellum’.

Now, whether the movie, which will be lead by rising Hollywood star, Ana De Armas (Knives Out, No Time To Die, Blonde), will see her young assassin as a member of the Ruska Roma as Wick was, is unconfirmed.

‘Ballerina’ Latest Cast News

09/11/2022:

Further tying ‘Ballerina’ to the flagship ‘John Wick’ movies. It’s been officially confirmed that Ian McShane (Lovejoy, Deadwood, American Gods) will appear in the movie as Winston.

It’s still unconfirmed if the movie will be taking place before, after, or during the events of the upcoming ‘John Wick Chapter 4’.

So, I can only assume that, following the events of ‘Parabellum’, Winston will appear in the movie in his capacity as manager of New York City’s Continental Hotel.

The in-universe safe haven and armoury for the assassins working under “The High Table” as patrons of The Continental are infamously and strictly forbidden from conducting business on the hotel grounds.

In addition to the news of McShane’s Winston appearing. It has also been rumoured that Keanu Reeves (Point Break, The Matrix, John Wick) is in talks to appear in ‘Ballerina’ as well as John Wick.

When asked, Lionsgate have refused to comment on the rumour, but, given that the movie is a spin-off set in the same universe.

And that it may involve the Ruska Roma, who we know from ‘Parabellum’ raised and trained Wick. It would be more surprising not to see Reeves reprise his iconic role.
