Metal Gear Solid 5 will launch in Konami’s 2014 fiscal year – between April 2013 and May 2014 – according to Japanese analyst company Nomura Securities.

Nomura Securities (via Andriasang) expects Konami to release Metal Gear Solid 5 at some point between the beginning of April 2013 and the end of May 2014.

Hideo Kojima has said in the past that Kojima Productions will “probably have to make [MGS 5] at some point“

Predicting increased earnings for Konami, Nomura Securities raised its outlook for the publisher from Neutral to Buy. Much of this optimism has come from Konami’s social games as opposed to its traditional game library, which Nomura notes has sold less than expected.

Nomura has predicted Konami’s operating earnings will rise 15% in fiscal 2014, to ¥60 billion.

The latest Metal Gear title – Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – was re-revealed at the VGA 2011 awards, and is an action-focused title being developed by Bayonetta developer Platinum Games.
