A mission within Watch Dogs 2 which asks players to steal an E3 game trailer from Ubisoft’s servers has revealed what could be a new game from the publisher.
The trailer features spaceships and has pretty strong No Man’s Sky look about it.
Now, we’d usually assume this was a trailer for a made up game, but a former Ubisoft developer believes the trailer is actually for a real game.
“Oh, huh, finally this is starting to get teased,” the ex-Ubisoft dev revealed on NeoGAF. “Knew very little about it just before I left Ubi over two years ago and never actually saw any in-game stuff. Interesting!”
“Pretty sure it’s real, like I said, I only heard rumblings of a big space game as they keep stuff on tight lockdown even between studios, so my knowledge ends at that sadly,” the dev added.
If the game turns out to be real, then hats off to Ubisoft for coming up with a new way to tease a game.
Watch Dogs 2 is out tomorrow on PS4 and Xbox One.
