Fortnite collabs are always a hit with fans and players who love seeing their favorite pop culture characters or icons as in-game cosmetics. Most recently, iconic fictional characters like The Incredibles and Spider-Verse skins have been released that were widely loved.
However there are still some characters like Spongebob Squarepants who have been rumored to arrive in the game for quite a while. But now since Chapter 6 already has big collabs in play like the Big Hero 6, the question is whether Spongebob is finally coming to Fortnite or not.
Fortnite Spongebob collab brings four UEFN maps & possible skin reveal
Fortnite has now collaborated with Spongebob to bring four UEFN Creative maps for fans and players themed after the world of the popular characters. In a reveal trailer, the four maps were revealed in classic Spongebob style featuring Fishstick and a 3D skin of Spongebob himself in Fortnite.
The trailer showcased Spongebob and Fishstick moving across several UEFN maps, all taking place in the underwater world of the iconic character. The maps shown in the trailer are:
- Spongebob Slap Fight (Fall Guys game): Map code – 7553-2540-2748
- Spongebob Red vs Blue: Map code – 0762-5568-4050
- Bikini Bottom Prop Hunt: Map code – 8840-0539-0526
- Bikini Bottom Only Up: Map code – 6719-4656-3054
The maps are all made by UEFN creator Spongebob Play who are the official handle of the Spongebob brand.
Ever since the release of the above maps players have been asking Epic to release Spongebob, Patrick and Mr. Krabs skins. However, no such info is out there yet whether the skins will be released in the game or not.
Still, given that the characters appear in the trailer as actual 3D models that are animated, players are hoping that’s how the actual skin will look like if it were to be released in Fortnite Item Shop.
