However, there are still a few names that fans still want to know more about like the infamous Dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald. His notoriety and inclusion in various forms of Harry Potter media has now made players curious about his inclusion in the game. Here’s all that we know about Grindelwald’s involvement in Hogwarts Legacy.

Does Grindelwald appear in Hogwarts Legacy?

Unfortunately, Grindelwald does not appear in Hogwarts Legacy since the game is set in the late 1800s. It also only features a very minimal number of characters from the Harry Potter series of novels so players will mostly be introduced to unfamiliar figures throughout the story.

Additionally, Gellert Grindelwald was a student of Durmstrang Institute, which is not one of the locations included within the in-game world. Though he would eventually be expelled for numerous heinous crimes and dark experiments, it would only be later on in the story that he would start a relationship with Albus Dumbledore. The future Hogwarts headmaster’s absence in the game also wouldn’t do Grindelwald’s appearance any justice as he is the the major figure he interacts with throughout his character arc.

Since the antagonists of the story are mainly those involved with the Goblin Rebellion such as Ranrok and Victor Rookwood, including another powerful evil wizard would seemingly be overkill. After all, the main protagonist can only handle so many dark presences as a fifth-year student.
