God of War: Ragnarok, the finale in Sony Santa Monica Studio’s epic saga, is now available on PlayStation 5 and PS4. Kratos and Atreus join the likes of Thor and Fenrir in what promises to be an epic story-driven game.
While it’s immediately tempting to write off any multiplayer element for the God of War Series, God of War: Ascension actually featured a multiplayer mode.

Is God of War: Ragnarok multiplayer?
No. There is no multiplayer element to God of War: Ragnarok, which is a shame, but as per the last game, the story is of such a high quality a lack of multiplayer is not a deal breaker.
God of War (2018) was essentially a complete reboot of the series, with a focus on over-the-shoulder camera rather than the more zoomed out look of the previous games, such as Ascension.

This is a shame, though. As battles with the Valkeryes proved in the last game, the idea of having a head to head with another God could have worked well.
God of War: Ragnarok releases on PS4 and PS5 on November 9. A PS5 upgrade is available for PS4 owners at a cost.

Is God of War multiplayer?
God of War: Ragnarok is not multiplayer nor are there any plans of it featuring the component any time soon. The only God of War with multiplayer supported was God of War: Ascension.
