Xbox One players will be able to pre-order a digital copy of Sunset Overdrive “soon”, Insomniac Games has revealed, suggesting that the option to pre-purchase games digitally could be due to arrive on Xbox One shortly.
Speaking on the latest episode of Sunset TV, Insomniac revealed that “if you pre-order [Sunset Overdrive] digitally you will get the Day One Edition content. You can’t pre-order it digitally yet but soon you will be able to.”
While Microsoft has yet to confirm when digital pre-ordering will arrive on Xbox One, Xbox boss Phil Spencer told IGN last month that it was still “on the roadmap for our monthly updates”.
PlayStation 4 already allows players to pre-order a select range of upcoming titles, however it isn’t yet clear how many games will be pre-purchasable on Xbox One Live or whether the entire upcoming catalogue will be available.
Insomniac adds that anybody who purchases Sunset Overdrive digitally will also be given a “a little nifty-gifty exclusive”.
