Resident Evil Revelations 2’s “ingenious” episodic model has helped put it on track to sell 1 million units, Capcom has said.

The publisher praised the game’s “strong start” and “variety of purchase options” last night while discussing its latest financial results, but stopped short of revealing exactly how many copies it had sold.

Resident Evil Revelations 2’s first episode launched at the end of February, with three further episodes rolling out each week later. A physical ‘box set’ containing all four episodes and additional content released immediately after the launch of the final episode.

A new Resident Evil is also rumoured for release later this year, although Capcom has yet to confirm plans for the future of the series.
