Smite 2 is approaching fast, and those who want to play it early should know about the Smite 2 alpha playtest and how to sign up for it. Smite 2, a MOBA, has been in the works for a while, with its announcement happening in January 2024. Smite 2 is a sequel set to improve on the old game in very with, with a new version of Unreal Engine, boasting improved visuals and more Gods, such as Zeus, Loki, and Anubis, to play as. Alpha playtest sign-ups have been open for a while, but the date of the alpha is nearly here, so this is what you should know.
How to sign up for the Smite 2 alpha
The Smite 2 alpha sign-up is the same process regardless of whether you want to play on a PC or console. To sign up for the Smite 2 alpha test, head over to the official Smite 2 site, click on the button at the top that says ‘Register for Alpha’, and follow the prompts to join the upcoming alpha. Here are the steps in detail:
- Head to the official Smite 2 website.
- Press the “Register for Alpha” button found on the upper right side of the home page.
- Select the platform you want to play on, for example, Epic Games Store or Steam.
- Enter your email address in the designated field.
- Check the first box to confirm you’re over 13 years of age.
- Hit the “Continue” button, and you’re registered!
- You will get an email confirmation saying you have been registered.
- Wait for an email confirming alpha access, and inviting you to the testing phase.
The Smite 2 alpha weekend will be a prime time to play the game regardless of the platform you want to play. Smite 2 will be available on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation, but there is no word on cross-progression if you play multiple platforms. While the game is a third-person action MOBA, trailers seem to indicate there is impactful combat in this closed alpha period.
With this, you will have successfully signed up for the Smite 2 alpha but you are not guaranteed a spot. Sadly, it will be a waiting game until you get an email from Hi-Rez Studios saying you have been chosen to take part in the Smite 2 alpha playtest, so make sure you keep an eye on your inbox. Once invited, it’s time to step into the shoes of a god from across mythology and take the fight to your foes.
If you don’t happen to get invited to the alpha, don’t despair. We think it’s highly likely that Smite 2 will get a larger, open beta playtest where more people can join later this year. However, if you simply cannot leave things up to the hands of fate, you can guarantee yourself a spot in the playtests if you pre-order the Smite 2 Founder’s pack edition.
Better yet, the cheapest version of the Founder’s pack is £25 and comes with a Cacodemon Ymir skin, double Legacy Gems, and all future god releases. There are other versions of the Founder’s pack, such as the deluxe edition that offers a Cross-Gen Nightstalker Neith Skin and Ascension Passes for the first 11 Alpha Gods. We wish you luck in getting a space in the closed alpha weekend test period ahead of the full release of Smite 2.
