Epic Games co-founder teases the theme of the next Fortnite season

The next Fortnite season is just around the corner! Epic Games scheduled it for Friday, May 24, and the community is excited once again. It appears that there will be no delays, despite Chapter 5 Season 2 having an extended downtime on its first day. Due to this, we expect the next season to come out around 4 AM Eastern Time on Friday.

The theme of the next season hasn’t been confirmed yet, although the leaked roadmap suggests that it will be apocalypse. Mark Rein, the co-founder and vice president of Epic Games, just teased the theme of the season on X, formerly Twitter. The executive posted one word that describes the season, which is what he’s done many times in the past.

According to the leaked roadmap, the theme of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will be apocalypse. More specifically, it looks like the season will be set in a post-apocalyptic world, making it perfect for collaborations like Fallout, Mad Max, and a few others. While the theme hasn’t been confirmed yet, we have a reason to believe that the roadmap is real.

Mark Rein’s hint for the next Fortnite season is “Nitro.” This could mean a lot of things, including nitrogen, one of the most prevalent chemical elements. However, this word is mostly used to refer to cars and racing in popular culture, which is why we believe that Season 3 will have many unique vehicles.

We are less than 10 days away from Season 3, so we’ll soon find out its theme. However, the roadmap has been accurate so far, which is why we have no reason to believe that it won’t be right for the next season. While Mark Rein’s cryptic word is quite vague, the roadmap leak does show a lot of new vehicles in Fortnite.
