The Game Awards 2023 is about to begin tonight. It’s the annual celebration of the end of the year, and there are plenty of announcements and trailers to anticipate. Last year’s event was admittedly too long and a bit of a slog, and this year’s ceremony will be lengthy too. Geoff Keighley has shared how long The Game Awards 2023 is scheduled to last, and here you’ll find the planned end time.

December has been another busy month for gamers. The GTA 6 trailer came out and revealed new protagonist Lucia, meanwhile, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is available to play right now. Baldur’s Gate 3 is also joining Xbox, and Larian Studios has released a free update that has added an extra epilogue for all players to enjoy

While all of the above is fantastic, tonight’s Game Awards will provide a look into the future of gaming for 2024 and beyond. It’s sure to be a great night for the video games industry, and you should make sure to get some food and snacks ready.

How long is The Game Awards 2023

Geoff Keighley has said The Game Awards 2023 will last approximately two-and-a-half to three hours long. This means it should end at roughly 8 PM PT/ 11 PM ET on December 7th, as well as 4 AM GMT on December 8th. During the event, make sure to enter the free and easy Steam Deck giveaway so you can at least be in with a chance of winning a 1 TB OLED. You can only enter once the start time has passed, and you must sign up before the ceremony finishes.

There have been some exciting leaks and rumors for the event. Xbox has promised major reveals, and so too has SEGA. PlayStation will be at the ceremony, too, as will many more publishers and developers. Some of the possible leaks include the announcement of a new game from Arkane, as well as possibly God of War Ragnarok DLC or a ‘half-sequel’ aching to Spider-Man Miles Morales.

Away from announcements, trailers, and gameplay, we will see the game of the year winner crowned. The competitors for 2023 are as follows:

  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  •  Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  •  Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
  •  Super Mario Bros. Wonder
  •  Resident Evil 4 Remake
  •  Alan Wake 2

Again, make sure to catch the event live. Get all nice and cozy, order some food, and brace yourself for some marvelous reveals.
