PlayStation has announced it’ll be holding a special Hogwarts Legacy focused State of Play broadcast this Thursday evening.

As per the PlayStation Blog, the broadcast will kick off from 9pm UK time on March 17. We’ve been promised we’ll get 14 minutes of new Hogwarts Legacy gameplay footage captured on a PlayStation 5. The whole show will run at around twenty minutes, with the last six filled by a few members of the Avalanche development team offering some insight into the game.

The broadcast will mark the first proper gameplay we’ve seen of the Wizarding World RPG since its announcement in 2020. What we know so far is that it’ll be set 1000 years before the events of the main Harry Potter series. You’ll be playing as a new student at the famous school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

You’ll have to attend classes to build up your spell skills, but it seems you’ll also have a special ability of your own that’ll be crucial to the story. It’s one that sees a new secret uncovered at the school, but more details are still under Avalanche’s Sorting Hat. Presumably, we’ll get a bit more info during the broadcast. Earlier this year, it was rumoured the game would be delayed, but Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar later claimed otherwise.

Presumably we’ll have a better idea after the Hogwarts Legacy State of Play this Thursday, March 17 at 9pm. You’ll be able to watch on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
