Hogwarts Legacy is filled to the brim with a large variety of magical creatures and fantastic beasts that you’ll be able to encounter throughout your journey. Though some will most likely be docile and peaceful, others will inevitably harbor ill-will towards you.

This time, though, we’ll be focusing on the ones that are tameable as you explore the Wizarding World. Some animals that immediately come to mind are Hipogriffs and Thestrals, which were often featured in the popular Harry Potter novels. With their inclusion now confirmed thanks to the multiple gameplay trailers, the question that players have now is will you be able to ride them?

Can you ride Magical Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy?
Yes, you will be able to ride Magical Beasts as you explore the surrounding areas of Hogwarts. The mounts you’ll get to handle will also not only be limited to broomsticks, Hipogriffs, or Thestrals. You’ll also allegedly be able to hop on Graphorns according to a post from the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account. However, these hulking creatures are initially aggressive so you will have to tame them first.

It’s also currently unclear whether Dragons will be a mount in the game as it is yet to be shown or confirmed by the developers. Although we are sure that they’ll be making an appearance based on the official screenshots and previews that have already been showcased.
You will also be able to tame a wide array of other adorable creatures such as Kneazles and Nifflers, both of which have been featured in the novels and the films. Phoenixes will also be part of Hogwarts Legacy’s animal list, although taming and keeping it as a pet may not be possible.
