High Voltage: The Conduit got repetitive

High Voltage Software’s Josh Olson and David Pellas have admitted that although The Conduit offered Wii gamers quite a fun experience, the game’s simple and pedestrian level design lead to a somewhat repetitive experience – something the pair are confident will be addressed with the sequel.

Asked by SEGA Blog what they didn’t like about the first game, the pair replied:

“Simple level design, online hackers, and the cliffhanger ending,” said Pellas.

Olsen added: “Quite a few things – ASE wasn’t well implemented, level design was a bit pedestrian, and we didn’t mix up the core gameplay experience in any meaningful manner. That core experience was fun – but it did get repetitive.”

An honest appraisal of the first title then, but fans should expect much more from the sequel.

“We learned a lot of great lessons on TC1 and feel we’re avoiding a lot of our missteps in the first title,” said Olsen.

“We are polishing and refining the experience from Conduit 1,” said Pellas. “We have incorporated much of the feedback that we received from Conduit 1 and have listened to what people liked and disliked from our competitors.”

Earlier today SEGA confirmed Conduit 2 for release in the autumn only for Wii.
