Update, 4:30pm GMT: And now Norman Reedus has been announced as attending. It’s almost a Kojima’s Death Stranding Best Friends Squad full house, with only Mads yet to confirm his attendance.

Original story: Death Stranding, the next game from Hideo Kojima is still something of an unknown entity at this point. Aside from a lot of big names attached and a couple of interviews from Kojima himself, we’ve not seen much of the PS4 exclusive since it premiered at, wouldn’t you know it, last year’s The Game Awards.

We could be getting some more info at this year’s TGAs, though, since Hideo Kojima and acclaimed film director Gullermo del Toro (who is part of what we think of as Kojima’s Death Stranding Best Friends Squad with Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen) have both been announced as presenting awards at the ceremony, according to a couple of tweets from the event’s official account over the weekend.

Of course, there a couple of things to note: Kojima is friends with Game Awards host and organiser Geoff Keighley, so his appearance shouldn’t come as too much of a shock (he famously was prevented from attending 2015 the awards by his former employers Konami, according to Keighley) and Del Toro has noted he’s not ‘involved creatively‘ with Death Stranding, only appearing as a character in the game. But given their history and the timing of putting them on together, it certainly feels like the opportunity to reveal something at the event on Thursday will be too much to pass up.

Oh, and ol’ Hideo’s also been spending what seems to be a lovely time with actor and fellow Death Stranding friend Mads Mikkelsen over the weekend too, so there’s that .

The Game Awards take place on Thursday night, December 7.Â
