Kojima Productions’ debut game, Death Stranding, has garnered quite a bit of attention since its first reveal trailer. Interest remains high in the game, which skipped E3 2017, and now Hideo Kojima has shared some more details on the game’s progress, to wit: it is progressing.

A man of few words, Kojima confirmed in a couple of tweets that Death Stranding in its current development state is looking rather good following tests, resulting in a pleased Kojima, who can now sleep comfortably.

He also said that script writing for the game was underway, with a captioned picture of some inspiring background music to back up his point (including the soundtrack to the recently released Dunkirk).

Despite this update, no one, including members of the cast, seems to have a real idea of what Death Stranding actually is, although it’s been confirmed by Sony’s president Shawn Layden that there’s a playable version albeit in prototype form. Perhaps we’ll get to see a gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2017, or even the PlayStation Experience later this year?

Death Stranding is the first game from Kojima’s new independent studio Kojima Productions, and is said to be an open world game with online elements. Hopefully this open-world game will be completed according to Kojima’s vision, unlike Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Death Stranding is due to release exclusively on the PS4 sometime before 2019.
