The ongoing rise of the Illuminate forces in Helldivers 2 is both exciting and terrifying with Meridia moving across the Galactic Map and an upcoming invasion of Super Earth, dark times are underway for the fighters of democracy.
However, it seems like Super Earth will find a way out of the approaching darkness as new leaks reveal players will be able to make use of Illuminate Warp Gates to take the fight back to the alien forces.
Helldivers 2 players can use Warp Gates?
As revealed by trusty leaker IronS1ghts, Helldivers 2’s Illuminate portals are still being worked on at Arrowhead. After leaking brand-new enemy types and an upcoming Weapon Customisation System, the prominent dataminer explained that the Warp Gates might be essential to combatting the increasing Illuminate presence.
IronS1ghts explained that the Warp Gates will predominantly be used by Illuminate Cultists, a new enemy type that uses the technology to summon more enemies in vile rituals. Over the game’s development, the mechanic has been called numerous things including Astral Rifts, Quantum Rifts and now Warp Gates.
However, within the game files, IronS1ghts discovered a new audio file of human divers shouting: “Opening a Warp Gate to Democracy”. While unconfirmed, it does appear that players will be able to make use of the alien technology for the good of Super Earth.
This could be done in two ways. In the first option, players could make use of the portals to rapidly send in additional troops. More likely, we may be able to open an Illuminate Warp Gate and send a big fat Hellbomb to their home planet.
Whatever the case, it seems like Helldivers 2 players will be able to make great use of the new Illuminate technology for Super Earth’s benefit. With Bugs and Bots coming to urban environments and more Illuminate enemies on the way, there’s almost too much happening in fictional galaxy.
