Helldivers 2 is set to receive a new update in less than a week’s time. This will be a substantial patch, which is something the community has been yearning. Arrowhead has already confirmed that it will focus on balancing, and the Helldivers 2 developer has shared new details about a massive flamethrower buff that is on the way.
The next Helldivers 2 update will officially arrive on September 17th. It is part of Arrowhead’s 60 day roadmap, and there is a lot of anticipation from players hoping for major improvements. There won’t be any changes to bots as the developer has warned this could lead to “bigger repercussions,” but there will be enemy overhauls plus plenty of weapon buffs.
One of the weapons set to receive a significant buff is the flamethrower, and Arrowhead has shared how it will be improved.
Arrowhead explains massive Helldivers 2 flamethrower buff coming soon
On the official Helldivers Discord, HD2 community manager, Baskinator, has shared new details about the flamethrower buff arriving with the next update.
The community manager explained that the flamethrower will be receiving a 33% damage buff. This is fantastic news for players who have felt that the weapon is underpowered, especially compared to bots using the flamethrower.
In addition to a 33% damage buff, the “flamer mechanics will be reverted to the state before the Escalation of Freedom update”. This means “flame based weapons can now damage heavier enemies like Chargers, Bile Titans, Impalers, and Hulks”.
This is more great news for players who have felt that the flamethrower is ineffective. While all of this is brilliant for the flamethrower, it’s not the only weapon set to receive buffs next week.
As shared by Arrowhead on Steam, we are also set to receive big buffs for the Autocannon, Heavy Machine Gun, and Anti-Material Rifle. Explicit details about these buffs have not been shared yet, but they “will be more effective, providing greater loadout versatility”.
