Helldivers 2 dev reveals a bow weapon will release “at some point”, but when?

Following the release of the classic WW1-era rifle and the long-awaited launch of melee weapons alongside the Illuminate, Helldivers 2 players are hungry for more rudimentary tools to be added to Arrowhead’s multiplayer shooter. 

While there are currently no known plans to add more outdated weaponry to the game, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani has revealed that a bow and arrow weapon will probably release “at some point” in the game’s lifespan.

Via the official Helldivers 2 Discord, the Arrowhead CEO discussed potential crossovers. With restrictions in place for what crossovers can do, players are begging for a collaboration with Crytek’s iconic Crysis franchise. 

If a Crysis collaboration does occur in the future, players also want the game to add the awesome Predator Bow that became prominent with Crysis 3. While Jorjani didn’t confirm whether or not that will happen, the CEO did claim that a bow weapon will probably release one day in the future. 

“I haven’t seen any plans for a bow afaik,” the Arrowhead CEO said. “But I’d be surprised if we didn’t see one AT SOME POINT.”

With Helldivers 2 players revelling in some of the game’s silliest, often worst, weapons for roleplaying purposes, the arrival of a bow and arrow weapon would be fantastic. After all, players already found ways to take out tanks with the game’s Constitution WW1-era rifle. 

Again, there’s no confirmation that a bow weapon will definitely release in the game. However, with the developers already aiming to transform the current game into Helldivers 3 with future updates, there’s definitely space for more unique, one-off weapons in the future.
