The Cyborgs have returned to Helldivers 2, seeking vengeance for their enslavement by Super Earth during the events of the first game. Developer Arrowhead recently announced the Cyborgs’ release date, leaving little time to prepare. However, they are now here, and we have been sent to their home planet, Cyberstan, with limited reinforcements.
When the Cyborgs first revealed themselves, they warned Super Earth to leave them alone or face “annihilation”. Now, all of us across PlayStation, PC, and Xbox must band together to defeat them, as they threaten Super Earth’s democracy while spreading propaganda and their socialist beliefs.
New Cyborg enemies include Agitators, Radicals, and Vox Engines. Agitators are described as “field commanders of the Automaton Legion” and are equipped with heavy armor.
Radicals, meanwhile, forgo heavy armor in favor of pushing their cybernetics and bio-enhancements to the brink. They specialize in close-quarters combat through their “techno-martial arts” and are also equipped with heavy shotguns.
Finally, Vox Engines are patrolling tanks that wield “dual heavy laser cannons, a rocket array, and heavy Gatling lasers for flanking defense”.
New Helldivers 2 Cyborg missions and limited reinforcements
As outlined by Arrowhead community manager Baskinator on the PlayStation Blog, the primary objective is to “stop the production of more Cyborgs”. We are tasked with destroying mega factories on Cyberstan, as well as tearing down the “symbolic statues of the war criminals and terrorists revered by Cyborg scum”.
Posted on X, the first major order requires us to destroy 700,000,000 Automatons on Cyberstan. Not only is this an enormous number of Automatons, the faction created by the Cyborgs, but Arrowhead has only given us one day to complete the order.
While stopping the Cyborgs is the ultimate goal, Arrowhead warns that “sending reinforcements to Cyberstan is a great risk for Super Earth”. As a result, reinforcements are limited, and to communicate this, “every death will be counted in the Battle for Cyberstan using a Galactic Reinforcement Counter”.
The PlayStation Blog does not reveal how many Helldivers can be deployed, but notes that “if the counter reaches zero, it means we have lost the Battle for Cyberstan”.
A return to Cyberstan has been a long time coming, as it was leaked back in April 2025. Those leaks also revealed plans for the Automatons to steal blueprints and build a superweapon comparable to the Death Star from Star Wars.
While the Cyborgs are the primary threat right now, leaks that have yet to come to fruition suggest the Illuminate are lurking with new forces biding their time to invade, such as the Illusionist.
