A title update intended to improve Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s matchmaking performance has been delayed until later in the week, 343 has confirmed. The update was originally scheduled to roll out tomorrow, November 19.

The delay means that 343 will be able to include “additional fixes” in the patch and ensure it completes the “testing and certification process”.

“This content update includes a variety of fixes across the title, including Matchmaking performance issues, general UI and game stability improvements, as well as fixes for game-game specific issues in Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 2: Anniversary, and more,” 343 said. “The full patch notes will be posted later this week, in advance of the content update release.”

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has suffered significant problems with its multiplayer since going on sale last Tuesday, with players unable to find multiplayer matches or facing lengthy delays.

The problems forced 343 to take certain content offline, including Halo 4’s multiplayer and additional playlists.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer apologised for the issues yesterday and acknowledged that “our fans expect more from us.”

“Team is making progress but I know it’s still disappointing.”
