343 Industries has revealed that it's got something planned for Halo: The Master Chief Collection during this year's South By Southwest event in March.

While the developer is keeping mum on any specific details right now, whatever it has planned will be revealed during the Halo Championship Series Invitational from March 15-17.

'If you are not able to make it [to the event itself], be sure to tune in to Mixer and Twitch each day at 12:00 p.m. CT,' the company said. 'Not only will you be treated to amazing matches and gameplay, but we’ve also got some exciting Master Chief Collection news to reveal during the show.'

Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched back in 2014 on Xbox One, but 343 has been keeping things ticking over with a number of major updates for the compilation ever since.

There's a couple of things that 343 could announce. First up, it could be another update, or a PC version of The Master Chief Collection. Other possibilities include a remastered Halo: Reach, which currently is not part of the bundle.

343 is currently working on the next chapter in the popular sci-fi franchise, Halo Infinite.
