While Halo Infinite Season 4 is set to release next week, many players are still frustrated at the slow release of content to the Halo series. Despite modes like forge, co-op campaign and a number of multiplayer playlists absent with the initial release of Halo Infinite, Halo fans want Xbox to pick up the pace with new entries in the series.

Following a recent interview with Axios where Matt Booty spoke on the future of 343 Industries and the Halo IP many players took to the Halo Reddit noting that they want more information on future Halo games sooner rather than later.

Given there were six whole years between the last game and Halo Infinite, one user by the name of xSluma said, “I don’t give a s**t who makes Halo anymore I just want the campaign story to move faster than one game per 6 years, we and more importantly the voice actors are getting older so we need to start getting stories whilst they can still perform.”

Halo fans have been calling for the IP to be divvied out to other developers to create their own experiences, citing studios like Komani who announced a number of new Silent Hill projects being tackled by a range of different studios. User PH0T0Nman echoed this sentiment again posting, “Please, for the love of the forerunners. Let some other studios make some offshoot material for Halo.”

One user seemed baffled that Microsoft hasn’t yet adopted a similar formula to Activision with Call of Duty saying, “I just don’t understand why a company like Microsoft does not push all the resources they have with other development studios to support 343 in building a complete Halo package on launch. Activision does this with COD so why not do the same for Halo?”

Other fans were also frustrated at the lack of any mention of a future Halo title in the interview with Booty and while one user pointed out that “that’s something for a showcase” the general response from other players such as SudsierBoar was that they are “so sick of ‘reveal culture’ where every little thing needs to be a trailer shown at a certain event.”

What makes this even more difficult for fans of Xbox’s flagship IP is that 343 Industries weren’t even present at the most recent Xbox Games Showcase despite revealing a trailer for their upcoming Halo Infinite Season 4 update just days later which sees the return of the fan-beloved mode Infection. Despite this, the Xbox Games Showcase had plenty to show off and in case you missed it you can check out our roundup.
