Footage of Halo 4’s multiplayer beta has been leaked by YouTube user Skid Kid, showing what appears to be a Slayer match on Warehouse.

Somewhat bizarrely the leaked footage is cammed from an old-looking TV which is playing a VHS of the Halo 4 multiplayer action. Therefore the quality of the footage on show is pretty dire, but some information can be gleamed.

As we mentioned earlier the footage appears to be of a Slayer match on the Warehouse map, but we can also make out that movement and weapon switching is faster than in earlier Halo games.

The sprint ability in Halo 4 will be attached to Spartans by default, and apparently lasts much longer than in Halo: Reach.

The new instant respawning is also shown – there’s no countdown to re-entering the game here – which also adds to make a faster multiplayer experience.

And there’s also a blurry glimpse of what looks like the railgun, new assassination animations and the Promethean Vision armour ability – which makes it possible to see through walls.

Microsoft’s statement relating to the leak confirms that an internal beta is ongoing, but there is no plan for a public multiplayer beta.

Expect lots more on Halo 4 at E3 next week.

Halo 4 will launch November 6 in regular and Limited Edition guises.
