Daybreak Games and NantWorks have announced that H1Z1 Battle Royale will be coming to mobile platforms at some point, where it'll be known simply as Z1 Battle Royale.

The move comes following a 'strategic investment' on the part of NantWorks in Daybreak Games, who also confirmed they will be pumping out a mobile version of EverQuest. There's no word on a release date for either project yet, however.

H1Z1 Battle Royale hasn't long been available as a free-to-play title for PlayStation 4, while Daybreak Games recently confirmed that it's shuttering the original Just Survive version of the game.

Battle royale is definitely the 'big thing' at the moment in gaming, with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite attracting millions of players per month.

Not only that, but it's not just limited to home consoles either. Both PUBG Corp and Epic Games' titles have made the jump to mobile platforms, where they have both performed extremely well. PUBG Mobile alone has notched up 100 million downloads, for example. Blimey.

In addition, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V will both feature battle royale modes. So yeah, it doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon.
