According to Guild Wars lore the Dragon Festival is a day to commemorate the survival of the Empire of the Dragon. The story goes that after the destruction wreaked by the Jade Wind, the newly crowned Emperor Hanjai oversaw the settlement of Shing Jea Island and the expansion of Kaineng City. The following summer, Emperor Hanjai dedicated a new Dragon Festival to commemorate the survival of the Empire of the Dragon.

Those who take part in the festival can join in fun carnival games like Whack-A-Worm, take part in new mini-missions and there’s also some special PvP gameplay. New quests also await those who take part. Ceremonial Dragon Masks are also up for grabs to the players who collect the most globes filled with the Jade Wind Essence.

The festival will take place around the Shing Jea Monastery and begins at 7pm GMT on June 30, and will end with a few surprises at 7pm GMT on July 4.
