Konami has announced that GTi Club+, an updated and enhanced version of its popular GTi Club arcade game, is to be released as a downloadable title for PSN on December 4.

The 335MB download will be priced 14,99 Euro and promises 720p visuals running at 60 frames per second with 5.1 surround sound. GTi Club+ recreates the beauty of its French locale within a large game map that is gradually opened up to the player when certain records are beaten.

Five licensed cars are included – Austin Mini Cooper, Renault 5, Fiat A112 Abarth, Lancia Delta and the VW Golf GTi – and players can compete on their own against AI drivers or take the action online and challenge up to seven other players.

Online game modes include standard racing – with three course difficulty settings – and a Bomb Tag mode which sees players attempting to blow up the opposition by passing on a ticking bomb. The game also supports the PlayStation Eye, allowing players to send images to their rivals mid-race.

Konami also plans to support the title with post-release downloadable content, which will include new cars. Look out for more details in the future.
