Grand Theft Auto Online’s in-game cash-boosting microtransactions will cost between £1.99 and £13.49, according to new report.

Eurogamer claims to have been told the prices by a source “with early access to the mode”, and states that “while details may still be tweaked prior to its final release, this is how things currently stand less than a week before it goes live”.

According to the site, the cash cards will cost the following amounts:

  • $100,000 Red Shark Cash Card – £1.99
  • $200,000 Tiger Shark Cash Card – £3.49
  • $500,000 Bull Shark Cash Card – £6.99
  • $1,250,000 Great White Shark Cash Card – £13.49

Eurogamer’s report also claims that properties and vehicles in the multiplayer mode cost far less than their single-player equivalent.

For example, “a car that costs $1 million in the game’s single-player mode can be bought for much less in Online – more like $150,000. Properties are also cheaper – the most expensive you can own is $400,000.”

Weapons and car mods, however, are said to be more expensive, with the site claiming that “most are initially out of normal financial reach”.

Rockstar has yet to officially announce GTA Online’s Cash Cards or detail how it plans to monetise the multiplayer mode. Listings for the Cash Cards were first discovered in source code hidden within Rockstar’s official site.

GTA Online is due to launch next Tuesday, October 1, with free access granted to all owners of Grand Theft Auto 5.
