A new update released today for Grand Theft Auto 5 introduces a brand new ability for Lester, allowing players to call in a favour and have cops temporarily ignore their criminal activity.

As detailed by Rockstar’s support site, “players will now be able to call Lester to have him tell his Cop buddies to turn a blind eye to any crime you may or may not be committing for a short period of time.”

The ability is only thought to be available in GTA Online.

In addition to Lester’s new ability, Rockstar has also fixed various exploits and made some tweaks to GTA Online’s balancing, awarding more cash when completing Parachute, Races, Deathmatches and LTS jobs in games with less than 4 players and removing a bug that let players become invisible.

The developer has also activated Double GTA$ and RP on all official Capture Jobs until Friday, April 11, to celebrate the latest update to the GTA Online Creator tool, which will allow players to create their own Capture Jobs when it rolls out this Friday.

The 1.12 update is available to download on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 now and will automatically download the next time you load the game.
