Preloads for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will go live on Steam and Rockstar Warehouse later today, Rockstar has announced.
The process allows players to begin downloading and installing the game ahead of its release next Tuesday, April 14, letting them get straight into the game as soon as the clock strikes midnight.
The PC version arrives after months of delays, having originally been due alongside the PS4 and Xbox One versions last November, it was later delayed to January, March and finally April.
As well as “major visual and technical upgrades”, the PC version also includes support for higher resolutions and frame rates beyond those of the console versions.
Rockstar released a new trailer for the game last week showing the PC version running at 60fps – twice as fast as the PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions.
