BAFTA Scotland will present Rockstar North with a Special Award for Achievement in 2013 in recognition of the success and excellence of GTA 5.

The British Academy Scotland Awards 2013, which honours the best Scottish talent in film, television and video games industries, will pay tribute to Rockstar North at a ceremony taking place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on Sunday, November 17.

The BAFTA Scotland committee only present this award when a work in a particular year has achieved something which deserves special recognition.

“BAFTA Scotland is delighted to present a Special Award for 2013 to Rockstar North in recognition of the creative excellence and international success of Grand Theft Auto V,” commented Alan de Pellette, acting director, BAFTA Scotland. “It’s amazing to have such a high end work produced in Scotland and I congratulate all the many talented people involved for their fantastic achievements in making the game a world leader.

“BAFTA takes any opportunity to recognise and reward excellence within the Games industry and BAFTA Scotland is proud to be able to honour Rockstar North and Grand Theft Auto V for their achievements in 2013.”

Edith Bowman will once again host the British Academy Scotland Awards 2013.
