Polyphony Digital has showcased around 30 minutes of Gran Turismo 7 in the latest State of Play broadcast last night.
As previously promised, the video included a deep dive into the racing simulatorâs latest outing. Everything about the game is of course, a love letter to cars and car culture right from the get go. The game even throws you into one of its brand new modes as soon as you boot it up. Upon launch, youâre put behind the wheel of a Porsche Carrera Speedster â56 in a Music Rally. The Music Rally is an arcade style race, where you must reach a series of checkpoints while listening to music.
From there, youâll head to the Gran Turismo 7 map screen which acts as your game menu, and gives you some credits to buy your first compact car. The map is set up like a car paradise holiday resort, with plenty of locations youâll get to know during the campaign. One of these is the Cafe, which offers a literal menu book of activities and missions to complete. Youâll complete these missions by, of course, winning races, unlocking cars and progressing through the campaign.
Other locations youâll unlock include the License Center, the Tuning Shop and more. And of course, thereâs also the mall-like Brand Central, a Livery Editor, GT Auto and more. To lean into the car culture stuff, occasionally the creators of some of the vehicles will chime in with interesting facts about the cars youâre thinking of buying. Thereâll also be a museum in the game where you can learn the history of each manufacturer.
Thereâs a ton more to see, so check out the full replay of the broadcast for yourself below. Gran Turismo 7 arrives on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on March 4.
