Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and Polyphony Digital has today announced a collaboration with BBC Worldwide that will allow BBC’s Top Gear programme to be downloaded through Gran Turismo TV on the PlayStation 3.
GT TV will be a dedicated online channel filled with the latest news and content from the world of motoring and is scheduled to launch worldwide on PlayStation Network in 2008. 40 episodes of the award-winning Top Gear television series will be made available to download from the service.
Racing and Top Gear fans will also be pleased to hear that Gran Turismo 5 will feature the Top Gear Test Track, fully replicated for the first time in a racing game.
“We’re sure that players will be as thrilled as we are when they get the chance to put their own driving skills to the test on the Top Gear Test Track in GT5, as well as enjoying classic episodes of Top Gear via GT TV,” said Kazunori Yamauchi, President, Polyphony Digital.
Gran Turismo 5 is scheduled for release in 2008, with the Prologue version expected early in 2008.
