With God of War: Ragnarok’s release almost upon us, the advertising campaigns are in full swing, and while we in the West have gotten a star-studded affair, the Japanese advert has take a very different route.
As spotted by Eurogamer, the Japanese TV spot for the game is not what you’d expect at all. Sure, it features some gameplay of Kratos and Artreus, but the rest, well…

Trying to describe it doesn’t do it much justice – so first we’ll just let you watch it for yourself after the jump.
The advert appears to take the form of something almost akin to a children’s show, complete with a lovely song and dance routine which you can follow along with at home.
It’s spliced with footage from the game – which makes a lovely contrast between the violent action and the bright colours of the dance number.
Earlier this week, PlayStation Studios dropped the English language TV spot for the game, starring Meet the Parents actor Ben Stiller, John Travolta and LeBron James and their children in a group therapy session.

This is all in service, of course, of reminding us that God of War: Ragnarok is out in just a week, on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 8.
