Warner Bros. and developer Monolith Productions have revealed details of the Gotham City Impostors closed beta. The multiplayer beta will start in September, with sign-ups now open on the official website.

“You’ve been waiting patiently to get some delicious hands-on time with Gotham City Impostors, and we’re more than happy to tell you that the opportunity is finally here. Our beta test is about to begin!” read a post on the official site.

“Be aware that this is a closed beta with a limited number of codes, but when we start sending them out we’ll be sure and let everyone know on Twitter and Facebook. (You know, so that you can avoid scams, and other unsavoury acts perpetrated by the dark splinters of the Internet.)”

Gotham City Impostors is a downloadable, multiplayer-only FPS from Monolith set in the Batman universe. It’s scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012.
