It’s always fun to search for something specific on Google to find a small easter egg. Whether it’s typing ‘Do A Barrel Roll’ to see your browser do a full 360-degree flip or even searching ‘Google Gravity’ using the ‘I’m Feeling Lucky’ prompt to watch the entire search engine fall in on itself Google easter eggs have always been a fun and a humourous way to mix up your online searching experience.

While the ‘Do A Barrel Roll’ prompt is undoubtedly a reference to Star Fox 64 that isn’t the only gaming-related easter egg Google has to offer. As it turns out beloved titles like Katamari and Splatoon also have similar Google easter eggs, all be it with a greater level of modern tech charm. Searching ‘Katamari’ on Google will allow you to click on the Katamari ball itself and literally rip the search results right off the page. Equally, if you search ‘Splatoon’ on Google you’ll be able to cover the whole page in various colours of paint. Should you manage to cover the entire screen you can simply click on the little water icon which will clear it all away for you to either flex your painting muscles all over again or simply get back to work as your boss is probably wondering why you look so gleeful while you’re meant to be doing work.

Posting on Twitter, YouTuber Jim Caddick either reminded some Google easter egg veterans or simply blew other Katamari fans’ minds by sharing the feature saying, “Sorry if you’ve seen this already but if you search ‘katamari’ on Google, then tap the katamari bouncing on the right, you can pick up everything on Google WHAT.” Underneath the post, a thread began to develop of people sharing their knowledge of different game-related Google easter eggs with user bechi99 sharing the above-mentioned Splatoon easter egg while another user, AlexStrook, shared yet another Google easter egg but this time related to Super Mario where if you simply type ‘Super Mario’ into Google you’ll be able to click to your hearts desire on the iconic question mark box with each click rewarding you with 200 points and a coin.

If all this talk about Katamari and Splatoon Google easter eggs has got you in the mood to play either title why not check out some of the changes implemented in the most recent Splatoon 3 update?
