Sony Santa Monica has announced that the God of War New Game+ mode will roll out for PlayStation 4 on August 20.

The much-requested feature can only be unlocked after completing the epic daddy simulator, after which it'll be waiting for you once the game has updated.

New Game+ is pretty self-explanatory, allowing you to carry all your hard-earned gear and powers across to a brand new adventure. However, Santa Monica Studio is going one step further; enemies will be more difficult to dispatch, and there's a brand new rarity level of gear to craft and upgrade.

Also new to God of War is the ability to skip cinematics, which will presumably come in handy for all the speedrunners out there.

God of War launched exclusively for PS4 in April, selling over five million copies in one month. In addition, it's digital revenue topped $130 million and the game is now the fastest-selling PlayStation exclusive title since records started in 1995.

Interestingly enough, the team originally wanted to give Kratos an epic Dad Bod in the soft reboot.

If you haven't played God of War yet, give it a go; it's not too shabby.
