Santa Monica Studio has confirmed the graphics modes you can enjoy Kratos and Atreus’ latest adventure on when it comes to God of War Ragnarok.

The game is one of best looking generation-straddlers out there, and there’s a bunch of options for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro owners to customise their experience how they want.

The graphics modes were revealed by the studio’s official Twitter account, and comprise of the following options with choices for those who favour resolution and those who prefer a higher framerate.

    • 60 FPS Target
  • Favor Performance + HFR (High Frame Rate)
    • 1440p
    • Unlocked 60FPS
  • Favor Performance + HFR (High Frame Rate) + VRR (Variable Refresh Rate)
    • 1440p
    • Unlocked FPS
  • Favor Quality
    • 2160p (Native 4K)
    • 30FPS Target
  • Favor Quality + HFR
    • 1800 – 2160p
    • 40FPS Target
  • Favour Quality + HFR + VRR

Of course, this also depends on the equipment you’ll be playing on – so HFR and VRR will require a HDMI 2.1 cable and compatible display and 4K will obviously require a 4K capable screen.

As we mentioned, it’s a very impressive looking game on both the older and newer consoles. And it’s excellent to see the PlayStation 4 Pro still holding its own.

Is God of War Ragnarok 4K 60fps?

God of War Ragnarok targets 60FPS with a maximum of 2160p resolution in Performance Mode. However, it’ll only target 30FPS at Native 4K in Quality Mode.

Does God of War Ragnarok look good on PS4?

The PlayStation 4 Pro will be able to run the game at a maximum of 1656p at an unlocked 30FPS in Performance mode and 30 FPS targeted in quality mode. The standard PS4 will run at 1080p with a 30FPS target.
