505 Games and One More Level have announced the release date for their first-person cyberpunk ninja action sequel, Ghostrunner 2.

The follow up to the surprise 2020 hit, Ghostrunner 2 promises some new twists to the previous game’s action parkour formula, not least the fact that now the game’s not just set around one building – you’ll get the chance to hop on a motorcycle and partake in some vehicular combat. You can check this out in the brand new trailer for the game below.

Ghostrunner 2 release date

As per the announcement, Ghostrunner 2 will launch on October 26 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC while those who opt for the game’s Brutal Edition will be able to enjoy two days early access on August October 24.

The Brutal Edition will also include everything in the game’s Deluxe Edition – four additional hand skins, four extra sword skins, and a personalised hand hologram displaying their current username. However, the Brutal Edition will also give players the game’s Season Pass with a new game mode and four asset packs for no additional cost too. They’ll also get an animated skin and a motorcycle skin too.

Ghostrunner 2 – who is the main protagonist?

Ghostrunner 2 continues the story of Jack, who spent the first game battling a rogue AI threat around Dharma Tower. They’re back in this sequel, 505 say, where he’s “emerging from the deathtrap of Dharma Tower for the first time to explore the sprawling wasteland beyond.” Ghostrunner 2 also promises a revamped character progression system so that returning veterans and newcomers alike will have a tough challenge to face.
